Data Currency    top

The online version of the Guide to the Evaluation of Educational Experiences in the Armed Services has now replaced the hardbound version and is updated daily to reflect all course or occupation exhibits that are new or have been modified since ACE last evaluated these entries. The "last updated" date at the bottom of

  • the Search Courses page identifies the most recent date that any Course exhibit was updated;
  • the Search Occupations page identifies the most recent date that any Occupation exhibit was updated;
  • each exhibit page identifies the most recent date that particular exhibit was updated.

Searching for Courses    top

The Search Courses page contains six fields for entering search criteria: Service, Keywords, Course Number, School/Location, Date, and ACE ID. Use the Service field to determine the scope of the search (select All Services to search the entire database, or select an individual service to limit the search to just that service). Criteria can be entered into any or all of the remaining five fields. The search engine returns all Course Exhibits that jointly satisfy all of the criteria (i.e., the search criteria are logically joined by ANDs).

The Keyword and School/Location fields each allow for compound criteria. Use the plus sign (+), ampersand (&), or the word and when criteria are to be combined (ANDed). Use the vertical pipe (|), a blank space, or the word or when criteria are to be considered separately (ORed). When there is a mixture of ANDs and ORs, the ANDs are evaluated first. To illustrate, aviation & radar equipment + maintenance is evaluated as (aviation AND radar) OR (equipment AND maintenance).

The search engine is not case sensitive, and spaces before or after the plus sign (+), vertical pipe (|), or ampersand (&) operators are not required. To illustrate, electronics + technician and ELECTRONICS+TECHNICIAN produce the same search results.

Searching for Occupations    top

The Search Occupations page contains five fields for entering search criteria: Occupation, Keywords, Occupation Designator, Date, and ACE ID. Use the Occupation field to determine the scope of the search (select All Occupations to search the entire database, or select an individual occupation to limit the search to just that occupation). Criteria can be entered into any or all of the remaining four fields. The search engine returns all Occupation Exhibits that jointly satisfy all of the criteria (i.e., the search criteria are logically joined by ANDs).

The Keyword field allows for compound criteria. To illustrate, field & artillery senior + sergeant is evaluated as (field AND artillery) OR (senior AND sergeant).

The search engine is not case sensitive, and spaces before or after the plus sign (+), vertical pipe (|), or ampersand (&) operators are not required. To illustrate, vulcan + crewman and VULCAN+CREWMAN produce the same search results.
